Membership

Who should join NJACAC?

Voting membership is extended to any secondary school, college, or university institution within New Jersey which is accredited by a regional or state accrediting agency. Also, voting membership is available to any not-for-profit educational organization, agency, or institution within New Jersey which provides post-secondary counseling, admission or financial aid services. Individuals employed by such schools or organizations may join as individual voting members.

Associate (non-voting) membership is open to any National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) member, institution or organization outside New Jersey and to retired secondary school, independent counselors, college or university personnel.

Association Publications
NJACACs The ABCs of College Planning offers up-to-date information to high school students on college planning and is an annual "best seller." The quarterly newsletter, "Intercom," keeps the membership informed of recent trends, ideas, and news.

Annual Conferences
NJACAC sponsors an impressive annual two-day spring conference . NJACAC is an approved provider of continuing professional hours credits.

Mini-Institutes
Each year as many as ten workshops are held on college campuses throughout New Jersey focusing on specific topics of interest to counselors. NJACAC is an approved provider of continuing professional hours credits.

Monitoring Admission Practices
The Admission Practices Committee works to insure that sanctioned, educational programs are designed to serve the best interest of students and counselors.

New Jersey National College Fairs
More than 300 colleges and universities are represented at, and more than 14,000 students, counselors, and parents attend these annual fairs which is planned and staffed by NJACAC volunteers.

Connecting with National Issues
The Legislative Concerns Committee receives regular reports on proposed or changing legislation which affect education, report issues of greatest concern to the membership and participate in lobbying efforts in Washington, D.C.
